Cherisha, born Cherisha Julliette Eleonoor Etnel. This Rotterdam native took her first breath on march 13th 1991. Cherisha is a focused 20 year old singer/songwriter whose motto is ; ‘’ who dares wins’’. To this young lady you have to risk loss in order to win.

Since Cherisha was a toddler she had a great love for music and it’s melodies. She always used to sing around the house and was very into poetry. ‘It made me feel free and gave me the ability to vent, ’the singer adds’. But it wasn’t until she visited her first Destiny’s Child concert in 2004, she figured that singing is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. With a lot of support from her mother, she started taking singing and dance classes in order to better her performing skills and stage presence.

The older Cherisha got the more she started to rely on her music. She uses her lyrics to inspire others, herself and to get through difficult times. Her music sound is inspired by her influences such as James Brown, Destiny’s Child, Kanye West and her Surinam background. The last couple of years she also studied many other different genres like Reggae, Blues, Rock, HipHop and Funk. She wishes to include all of these genres to her mainly R&B/pop sound.

Not only can she sing, write and dance. Cherisha also has a great eye for fashion and has been making sketches of stage outfits and many other different designs since the age of 11. ‘Fashion is yet another way to express myself, I can dress how I feel, make statements or leave an impression and I love doing that, ’she says’. Now living in New York City with a mission to make all of her dreams come true through hard work, passion and dedication, this old soul can’t be stopped.
