VEL DRAGO was founded by JJ VEL & RICK DRAGO two veterans of the NYC music scene, They first worked together when CIRKUS FROM HELL started. and for a lack of a descent vocalist ended up going in different directions
Rick Drago ended up getting CIRKUS FROM HELL off the ground and was recording and out touring not long after that.
JJ VEL started up SCARABUS, and was recording and out touring with his band.
Rick and JJ started talking online line a few years later, and started doing some recordings together, one thing led to an other and VEL DRAGO was born.
They started recording and filming videos putting in countless hours of work to get VEL DRAGO up and running in such a short time.
Friends and fans having been growing ever since.
Its time for everyone to get infected with VD, The Days of VEL DRAGO are upon us.
VEL DRAGO is currently unsigned and is looking for a great Manager to help get us to where we want to go.
We also would like to work with a top notch producer (John Robert Lange) to get the most out of our writing,recordings and sound.

RICK DRAGO
Guitarist/songwriter
Rick hails out of NYC, and has been playing guitar for most of his life.
Rick was 17 years old when he picked up his first guitar, and still owns that Ibanez musician guitar.
Rick's toured locally and nationally in such bands as :

BASSIST/COMPOSER/VOCALIST
JJ VEL IS THE CREATIVE FORCE BEHIND ALL OF HIS MUSIC AND VIDEOS.
JJ HAS BEEN PLAYING THE BASS GUITAR SINCE THE AGE OF 12 AND HAS NEVER LOOKED BACK SINCE.
JJ HAS PLAYED WITH A PLETHORA OF BANDS IN AND OUTSIDE OF NYC AS WELL AS SESSION ON COUNTLESS DEMOS AND ALBUMS.
JJ IS MOST NOTABLE FOR HIS STYLE OF BASS PLAYING WHICH LENDS MANY STYLES FROM JACO PASTORIUS, JAMES JAMERSON TO FLEA.......
JJ ALSO DOUBLES ON GUITAR/KEYBOARDS/DRUMS AND IN HIS OWN WORDS "ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE THE SONG WORK".
